Use of Library Terminals for Free Parking Redemption
The "Automated Vehicle Access Control System" has been installed at different University gates. To access the campus, alumni have to present their Octopus card at the Octopus card reader located in front of the tollbooth and drive through the "visitor" lane.
To simplify the redemption process of the Alumni Credit Card's parking benefit, the cardholders shall present their Alumni Credit Card at the library terminals for verification of their parking benefit after using the library facilities, with effect from 4 January 2018. A valid Alumni Library Card, either a Borrower's or Reader's Card, shall be used for accessing the libraries.
Once the entitlement for parking benefit has been duly verified as shown on the terminal screen, cardholders could use their entry Octopus card to redeem the 4-hour free parking. Upon departure, cardholders should use the same Octopus card to enjoy the redeemed parking benefit and pay for remaining parking fee (if any).
