Meet Stella Leung (79/UC/Chi. Lang. & Lit., 84/GS/Dip. In Education) whose bond with CUHK spans generations—she and all three of her daughters, Alice Wan (12/CC/Hotel & Tourism Management), Bonny Wan (12/NA/Journalism & Communication) and Carol Wan (15/SC/Prof. Acct.) are alumni.
Stella’s husband first visited CUHK for a college basketball tournament and was impressed by the campus and environment, believing it would be the perfect place for their daughters to pursue their studies. In 2009, the twins were admitted to CUHK. However, their joy was met with hardship when Stella’s husband was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer, with doctors estimating about 3 years left. His wish was to see his daughters graduate. In March 2012, the family gathered on campus for the twins’ graduation photos. Later that year, their youngest daughter also gained admission to CUHK —fulfilling his final wish.
